3 Day Fast

We're calling together disciples of Jesus to fast and pray for Afghans around the world … and YOU'RE INVITED!

October 1st-3rd 2024

Throughout the Bible we see God responding to His people humbling themselves together before Him in fasting & prayer.

So let us humble ourselves before God as His people from across the world, calling out to Him for spiritual breakthroughs and an outpouring of His Spirit among Afghans throughout the nations.

vision

The vision for this 3 day fast is to…

Worship God

God is worthy of worship

(Revelation 5: 9-10, 13-14; Matthew 6:9)

Worship of God brings chaos to the enemy camp & breaks down the enemy's strongholds

(2 Chronicles 20:22; Joshua 6:20)

Humble ourselves before Him

[Humbling ourselves through fasting declares our need of God in a very physical sense, helping us position our hearts in this posture too.]

God is gracious and attentive to the humble

(James 4:6-10; Psalm 10:17; 2 Kings 22:18-20)

Seek Him & His Kingdom

God responds to those who earnestly seek Him

(2 Chronicles 7:1; James 5:16; Hebrews 11:6; Luke 11:9-13)

Listen to Him

God speaks & guides His people

(John 14: 13-15; Luke 6:12-16)

Respond in faith & obedience

Our response to God's voice is to be faith expressing itself in obedience

Prayer Focus

Pray for the activation of all believers - to engage in expanding God's Kingdom

Pray for attunement & obedience to the Spirit's voice

Pray for boldness, wisdom & endurance in the face of adversity and persecution

Pray for freedom from sin & the alure of wealth

Pray for each disciple to walk in the power and authority of the Holy Spirit

Pray for the fruit of the Spirit

Pray for unity & love within the body of Christ across people groups

Pray for the revelation that Jesus is the Son of God

Pray for signs and wonders to go before and behind to confirm the message about the Kingdom of God

Pray for freedom from addictions to happen in response to them calling upon Jesus name

Pray for a releasing of dreams and visions of Jesus Christ & visitations of angels

Prayer

Pray for individuals to develop the habit of extended times of passionate, persevering prayer & fasting for the Afghan peoples

(Matthew 14:23; Isaiah 62:6-7)

Pray for thousands of prayer gatherings to form throughout the nations praying for the sixty eight unreached people groups of Afghanistan

(Matthew 18:20; Revelation 7:9-10)

Pray for God's people to have insight from the Holy Spirit into how to strategically uproot and plant in prayer for Afghanistan and its peoples

(Jeremiah 1:10; Isaiah 41:15-16)

Pray for God's people to come to their knees in humility, desperation and desire to see a saturation of God's Kingdom among Afghans throughout the world

Workers

Pray for workers to be motivated by love

(1 Corinthian 13:1-3)

Pray for new wineskins (ways) that work with what the Holy Spirit is doing and remove unnecessary barriers to the Kingdom

Pray for God to connect his disciples with those who are open and hungry for God and will pass what they learn on to others

Pray for God to send out more workers

(Matthew 9:37-38)

Pray for insight for workers to learn how to engage whole families & communities with the Kingdom of God

Disciples

Pray for every Kingdom seed that is received (e.g. story, miracle or dream) to be shared with others & multiply

(Acts 9:32-35; Luke 8:26-39; Acts 8:4)

Pray for desire to read/hear the Bible and put it in to practice

(Matthew 7:24-27; James 1:22)

Discovery Groups

Pray for spiritual hunger to be greater than fear & for Discovery Groups reading God's Word to form & multiply throughout family and community networks

Pray for questioning to become normal and accepted among the community & Discovery Groups to be a safe place to share and search the scriptures with others

Pray for households and groups to be baptised in water and the Spirit

(Acts 10:44-48; Acts 16:31-33)

Church Gatherings

Pray for small, simple, reproducible gatherings & for joy and freedom for Afghans in discovering what this looks like in their culture

(Acts 2: 42-47; Romans 16:1-16)

Pray for the identification and development of leaders who will pass on to others what they receive

(2 Timothy 2:2; Acts 14:21-25)
