This month, Muslims across the world will celebrate Eid Al Adha, remembering Abraham’s obedience in his willingness to sacrifice even his own son to obey God. Eid Al Adha is often centred around acts of charity and community gatherings; while in most Muslim nations it also entails various forms of animal sacrifices that are then shared equally with family, friends and those in need. These are given to remember the need to sacrifice our desires for the wellbeing of others and to walk in complete obedience to God.  

Let’s unite this month in praying for God to reveal the worthiness of the Lamb of God, the substitute, who takes away the sin of the world, who walked in complete obedience to his Father, to the point of death.

Let’s pray for Afghans to have ears to hear and eyes to perceive this truth and respond with nothing less than complete surrender, taking up their cross and following Jesus, whatever the cost.
